FORMER NICE & SMOOTH ARTIST is THE FIRST SIGNING IN
JOINT VENTURE WITH THE ORCHARD
New York, September 23, 2009, One Haven Music, today announced that they have signed Greg Nice, the hip-hop artist known best for his work in the east coast duo Nice & Smooth. This follows the recent announcement of the joint venture between One Haven Music and The Orchard (NASDAQ: ORCD) a full service media company specializing in music and video entertainment.
“Let’s do it! I’m psyched to be here with One Haven and The Orchard, and I’m anxious to get some fresh sounds out in the club and party scene,” commented Greg Nice. “I know this deal was brought to life to by One Haven and The Orchard to get a unique talent signed, and I’m stoked to be considered among this style,” he added.
The popular duo Nice & Smooth have sold over a million units and were best known for their funky hip-hop single “Funky for You”. The pair is particularly recognizable because of Greg Nice’s wit and retro and contemporary groove that is evident throughout the music. The influential duo parted ways in 1998, but Greg Nice as a solo artist will take advantage of the services available to artists signed to One Haven/The Orchard.
Promotion of Greg Nice’s upcoming release will be overseen by The Orchard and Lee Resnick’s South East Music, Inc., who will simultaneously support the artist in interactive marketing and branding initiatives for an early 2010 album release. The intention of campaign is to put Greg Nice back in the spotlight where he can engage and monetize audiences globally in new creative ways as a re-emerging artist.
